Iridized Bubble Vase

Regular price $225.00 USD

A vase that needs no introduction — a future heirloom crafted by master glassblower Peter Gudrunas of Sirius Glassworks. One of the few glassblowers in North America to still make the majority of his glass from scratch, and working from an old handwritten recipe book, Peter's pieces are well regarded for their unique shapes and bold combinations of color. The Bubble Vase features a water-blue colorway, iridized on the inside to radiate a sheen of light.

  • Details

Made by hand. Natural variations in shape, size, and color are meant to be embraced.

  • Origin

Imported from Canada. At his studio near the shores of Lake Erie, master glassblower Peter Gudrunas has been forming contemporary glass that is prized for its classic beauty since the 1970s. Now designed in partnership with his youngest daughter, artist & filmmaker Iris Fraser-Gudrunas, Peter crafts each piece using traditional methods developed over 2000 years ago. He begins with raw materials such as powdered quartz and limestone, measures, mixes and refines them in a furnace powered at temperatures in excess of 2400 degrees Fahrenheit. One of the few glassblowers in North America to still make the majority of his glass from scratch, and working from an old handwritten recipe book, Peter's glass colors are unique to his practice and each piece is subtly different from the next. It is an honor to feature these modern heirlooms at our shop.
