Leonard Koren

Written by Leonard Koren in 2020, Musings of a Curious Aesthete is an easily digestible read that speaks to our heart. Both a memoir and a design critique — with a smattering of ethics and morality thrown in. Illustrations by the author's son, Marco Koren.

Leonard Koren is a Northern California-based author who founded WET Magazine in 1976, an abstract periodical dedicated to the concept of gourmet bathing. After spending several years living and working in Japan, Koren wrote various works on aesthetics, including “Wabi-Sabi for Artists, Designers, Poets and Philosophers”, which helped bring the Japanese concept of ‘Wabi-Sabi’ into western aesthetic theory.
