Schijngelaten Mask No. 15 is a solid one-of-a-kind papier-mâché mask hand painted by artists Bloeme van Bon & Geran Knol. Crafted in a uniquely collaborative process, the mask is first shaped and molded by hand, dried, and then hand painted in a series of intuitive layers by each artist before receiving a final coat of varnish. The result is an harmonious amalgamation of two distinct artistic styles with a shared fascination for identity and culture. As a decorative work of art, the reverse side of each mask includes a pre-installed brass hanger with a suede chord for wall mounting. Handmade in Antwerp, Belgium.

Measures approximately 7.5-9"L x 5-6"W x 2.5-3"D. Includes cotton dust pouch for storage. Wipe with a dry cloth when needed. Made by hand; natural variations in shape, size, and color are meant to be embraced. Please note this item is final sale.

Based in Antwerp, Belgium, Park Pardon is the collaborative studio of artists and longtime friends Bloeme van Bon and Geran Knol. In 2019 the duo launched a series of one-of-a-kind hand painted papier-mâché masks entitled Schijngelaten, an invented synonym for "mask" using the Dutch words "gelaat" (face) and "schijn" (appearance). As a body of work Schijngelaten strives to connect art and design while also exploring the artists’ shared fascination for faces, characters and culture.
