Sommer is a shop of considered wares based in San Francisco, CA. We are seeking a friendly & accountable Retail Associate to bring an element of hospitality and expertise to our storefront in Bernal Heights. The Associate will be responsible for engaging with customers, assisting with sales/check out, as well as general store operations. This is a part time weekend position with a commitment of 6-12+ hours per week to start, primarily working Saturdays-Sundays and some Fridays as needed.
Responsibilities
Customer Service:
- Greeting customers and acting as a point person for our shop
- Answering questions and providing assistance with thoughtful knowledge of our products
- Checking out customers, wrapping orders, and assisting with returns/exchanges/rentals
Operations:
- Picking & packing online orders
- Stocking/tagging new inventory
- Merchandising the storefront; ensuring proper displays
- Assistance in periodic inventory counts
- Opening and closing the store
- General store maintenance/cleaning
- Working occasional in-store pop ups and events
Qualifications
- Ability to regularly work weekends (Saturday-Sunday, 12-6pm) and ability to cover occasional Fridays as needed.
- 1+ years of proven experience in retail or similar customer service
- Friendly & warm disposition; natural people person
- Reliable, honest and trustworthy
- Excellent communication skills
- You have a can-do attitude and enjoy working independently
- You take responsibility and ownership of your work
- Sensibility towards art, design & photography
- You enjoy combining commerce with meaning
- Knowledge of Shopify POS system is a plus
